Competitive set configurations allow you to include those hotels considered competitors, so you can study and compare the price in the market. Go to Configuration>General>Competitive set

To include a new competitor:

1. Click the button “+” on the right of the screen
2. Include the competitor’s name
3. Write the link of the hotel in the OTA
4. Click Save

The BEONx Customer Care team will work to include the hotel within the next hours.

Competitor Adjustments & SmartRange Considerations: SmartRange automatically analyzes and processes the competitive set’s pricing behavior, applying it intelligently to the model. As a result, manual adjustments in the Competitor Configuration module are only necessary in specific cases:

• Temporary hotel closures due to refurbishment

• Stock reduction due to renovations

These situations typically involve a pricing strategy shift, and adjustments may be required. However, in all other scenarios, SmartRange will evaluate competitor behavior dynamically and incorporate it into the model accordingly. This means that removing a competitor manually is no longer necessary unless the hotel is undergoing a structural change that significantly alters its pricing behavior.

How to exclude a competitor due to refurbishment or stock reduction: If a competitor needs to be excluded due to a temporary closure or reduced availability, follow these steps:

1. Click the edit button of the competitor

2. Select the period you want to exclude the hotel from the functionality

3. Click Save

How to monitor a competitor without affecting the algorithm If you want to monitor a competitor’s prices without including them in the recommendation algorithm, you can keep them exclusively in the Rate Shopper module under the Competitors tab. To do this:

1. Click the edit button of the competitor

2. Deselect: Enable this hotel in this service

3. Click Save
